Job Summary:
The CNC Mill Set Up Technician will be responsible for precision setup and operation of CNC milling machines to produce complex aerospace components with tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, experience with aerospace materials, and a quality-first mindset aligned with aerospace manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up multi-axis CNC milling machines (3, 4, and 5-axis) for aerospace part production. Read and interpret complex aerospace blueprints and GD&T specifications. Select, install, and align tools, fixtures, and machine accessories based on setup sheets and part requirements. Adjust machine offsets, troubleshoot setup issues, and ensure optimal machining performance. Work closely with CNC programmer and management to resolve non-conformances and improve setup processes. Document setup information for repeatability and continuous improvement. Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations in accordance with aerospace safety practices.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience setting up CNC mills in an aerospace or precision machining environment. Skilled in interpreting aerospace-grade engineering drawings and GD&T. Familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Haas, Fanuc) and CAM-generated programs.
Proficient with precision measuring equipment:
micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Experience maintaining a clean work area to minimize Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
Compensation:
• $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule :
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (Day shift) Overtime as needed.
