Job Overview Our machine shop is seeking a full-time, skilled and motivated Machinist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment including drill presses, radial drills, engine lathes, vertical milling machines, horizontal milling machines, surface grinders, vertical turret lathes, horizontal boring mills, hydraulic presses and pedestal grinders. The ideal candidate will be a team player and bring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced service and repair environment. Key Duties Set up and operate manual machines (like those mentioned above) Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements Perform tool setup, adjustments, and offsets as needed Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet quality and tolerance standards Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check parts in process against specified tolerances Inspect finished parts and make necessary machine adjustments Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with company standards Follow all established safety procedures and guidelines Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel Needed Skills High school diploma or
GED 2 - 5
years of manual machining experience Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately Experience working with carbon and stainless steel and aluminum; titanium, and nickel a plus Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining operations (cutting, milling, turning, drilling) tooling selection, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations Familiarity with safety procedures related to welding, power tools, forklift operation, and handling of instruments Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly while maintaining high-quality standards Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Pre-employment and random drug-testing are expected in compliance with our commitment to workplace safety Ability to work occasional overtime Additional Skills (a Plus) Familiarity with pump, rotating equipment, column, impellers, shafts or rotors highly desired Welding Forklift CNC machining Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision work Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures If you're looking for a new work family with a long history of providing exceptional service to both our customers and our employees, come check us out! www.rsicorp.net
