Job Description

Industrial Assembly Technician We are currently seeking skilled Machine Builders to join a reputable industrial equipment manufacturer located in the Northwest Chicago suburbs. This position offers a consistent first-shift schedule, providing a standard 40-hour work week with the flexibility to increase your hours up to 60 per week if you desire additional overtime. Role Summary In this position, you will manage the mechanical assembly, installation, testing, and initial startup of bespoke industrial machinery designed for high-demand production settings. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate excellent mechanical proficiency, the ability to interpret complex blueprints, and a proven history of constructing large-scale mechanical systems. Primary Duties Execute the fitting and installation of mechanical systems by following engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical assembly guides. Build, restore, diagnose, and fix various types of industrial machinery. Ensure the safe operation of forklifts, jib cranes, overhead cranes, and an array of hand or pneumatic tools. Collaborate with your team to resolve assembly challenges and create effective, practical solutions. Contribute to a high-speed manufacturing setting by adapting to diverse equipment builds. Use precision inspection tools such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges to ensure accuracy. Translate dimensional specifications and measurements into precise mechanical results. Maintain accurate records of assembly and inspection data within our digital business platforms. Support a secure workplace by strictly following established lifting and rigging protocols. Verify equipment performance during startup and make necessary refinements to guarantee optimal functionality. Maintain high standards of quality and compliance with all internal manufacturing procedures. Required Skills and Experience Completion of a High School Diploma or GED. At least three years of professional background in machine building, industrial maintenance, or mechanical assembly. Proficiency in analyzing and applying mechanical blueprints and technical drawings. Demonstrated capability in mechanical troubleshooting and complex problem-solving. Requirement to possess and utilize your own basic hand tools. Experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial electrical setups, or welding is highly valued. Physical capacity to lift 70 pounds and perform tasks involving kneeling, crouching, crawling, or climbing. Strong verbal and written English communication skills. Commitment to delivering high-quality work with a focus on detail and reliability. Ability to function effectively both as an independent contributor and a collaborative team member.
