Job Description

CNC Machinist - Third Shift Quiet Hours. Big Impact. Third shift isn't for everyone—and that's exactly why it pays off for the people who choose it. Fewer distractions, more ownership, easier commute, and the chance to be the one who keeps production moving while everyone else sleeps. The Opportunity We're looking for a CNC Machinist with 3-10+ years of experience who's comfortable owning setups, not just pushing buttons. You'll keep mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines running true on a fast-paced third shift, where your decisions matter immediately. What You'll Do Set up and run CNC equipment (mills, lathes, or multi-axis) with confidence. Read blueprints and GD&T, hold tight tolerances, and adjust as needed. Make offsets and basic program edits on controls like Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak. Select tooling, set cutting parameters, and handle fixture setups and part changeovers. Perform first article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore and height gauges. Keep an eye on machine health with basic preventative maintenance and a continuous improvement mindset. What You Bring Solid CNC background (3-10+ years) with real setup and troubleshooting experience. Strong understanding of feeds/speeds, materials (steel, aluminum, stainless), and tooling. Attention to detail, quality mindset, and reliability—especially important on third shift. Ability to work independently while still being a strong teammate. Nice-to-Haves CAD/CAM exposure (Mastercam, Fusion 360). Experience with 4th/5th axis, proto@types, or short-run work. History of reducing scrap and tightening cycle times. If you like owning your work, enjoy quieter shifts with more responsibility, and want your skills to really stand out, third shift might be your unfair advantage. Interested? Send a quick overview of your CNC experience, machines/controls you've run, and your comfort level with setups and edits.
