Machinist Brad Foote Gear Works Inc. - 3.3 Cicero, IL Job Details Full-time $21.27 - $38.65 an hour 18 hours ago Benefits Tools provided Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Brad Foote Gear Works is searching for a number of Machinist to join our team in Cicero, IL. This position will be responsible for Set-up, program, operate, and run the machine (experience with 5 axis, milling, manual turning, CNC turning, cell cutting & hobbing, tooth grinding, etc) . The successful candidate must provide and maintain their own set of basic tools required to effectively carry out assigned responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Set-up, program, operate, and run the machine (experience with 5 axis, milling, manual turning, CNC turning, cell cutting & hobbing, tooth grinding, etc) Check the Route Sheet, blueprint, and sketch for the operation and instructions and install piece/part into machine Measure rough material and divide stock to ensure 100% clean up and check run out part in machine Turn the first side per blueprint and Route Sheet instructions. Check all dimensions, remove the piece part from the machine, and make size corrections Follow the bar-coding procedures per the SOPs, operate YOUJI VTL, Hofler gear hob/gasher or equivalent plus ancillary equip., true up the outside diameter to run true within spec Deburr, stamp, inspect and package the parts produced in the cell Inform supervisor or lead for assisted setups when operation may require indication and alignment Stamp parts per SOP, follow bar-coding procedures per SOP499 Read and understand drawings of product, and understand all written work instructions All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications High School diploma or equivalent education At least (3) years of experience with the functions of the machines and to operate them competently and efficiently preferred Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability Set-up, program, operate, and run the machine (experience with 5 axis, milling, manual turning, CNC turning, cell cutting & hobbing, tooth grinding, etc) Use shop mathematics, micrometers, and measuring instruments Work from blueprints, sketches, route sheets and verbal orders Provide necessary hand tools, and measuring instruments Able to use company gauging
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend documents including technical information. Ability to speak effectively with vendors and as a representative of the Company.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several variables at the same time. The successful candidate must provide and maintain their own set of basic tools required to effectively carry out assigned responsibilities.
