Due to the expansion of business, we now have a machine setup and operator position available. Summary Experience is setting up and operating a variety of metal working machine tools, such as engine lathe, turret lathe, drill press, and milling machines to machine metal work pieces in a production environment. Familiar with Vertical Boring machines in an advantage. Have personal set of machinist tools. This is a full-time position, first shift position (6AM 2:30 PM) Monday - Friday, in a clean, safety focused, respectful and drug free workplace. Duties and Responsibilities Lift work pieces manually or using hoist and position and secure it to holding devices such as machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures. Select, position and secure cutting tools in tool holder. Use scales, gauges, calipers, and other machining measuring equipment to machine to specifications. Perform routine maintenance of the machines. Practice safe work habits, maintains the workplace in good order and wears issued personal protective equipment in the workplace. Other duties as assigned. Education and Work Experience One year certificate from college or technical school: two years related experience and/or training: or equivalent of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms: and talk and hear. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, occasionally moving up to 50 pounds.
