A prominent manufacturer specializing in power transmission parts for the defense and aerospace sectors is currently seeking three skilled CNC Lathe Machinists. Candidates with robust capabilities in machine setup, program modification, and familiarity with various equipment brands are highly encouraged to apply. You will work in a climate-controlled, 150,000-square-foot facility featuring state-of-the-art machinery, competitive hourly wages, a significant 10% shift premium, and the opportunity for over 10 hours of overtime each week.
Role Overview:
Core Duties:
Prepare for machining tasks by analyzing engineering plans, work orders, blueprints, quality standards, and material specifications, while applying your knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Configure lathes through the precise installation and calibration of tools, attachments, and chucks. Support the production flow by positioning raw stock into the feed mechanism. Ensure accuracy by validating initial part runs and sample pieces against established quality plans and operational drawings. Help maintain high production standards by monitoring machining processes, performing necessary adjustments or tool replacements, and troubleshooting controls to ensure consistent output. Promote a secure workplace by strictly following all established safety protocols and regulations. Ensure machine reliability by performing routine preventive maintenance and coordinating repairs when technical issues arise. Facilitate seamless handoffs between shifts by clearly recording and reporting ongoing production needs and irregularities. Record production data and quality metrics by maintaining accurate logs. Expand your professional expertise by engaging in relevant training and reviewing industry literature. Contribute to team success by taking initiative on new tasks and identifying ways to improve overall operational efficiency. Qualifications and Background At least 2 years of professional experience in the operation of CNC mills and lathes is necessary. Proficiency in interpreting complex mechanical blueprints and a solid grasp of GD&T principles. Fundamental mathematical aptitude. Prior experience with DMG/Mori Seiki
NT4300/1500
turn/mill systems is considered a significant advantage. Background in the manufacturing of gears is highly desirable. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents to comply with ITAR requirements for defense-related projects.
