CNC Lathe Machinist (1st Shift) 📍 Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM Join a Team That Values Precision & Craftsmanship We're looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality, precision parts. In this role, you'll set up and run CNC lathes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure every part meets exact specifications. What You'll Do Set up and prepare CNC lathes for production runs Perform changeovers to support multiple part numbers Adjust machine offsets and settings to maintain tight tolerances Prove out new or updated programs before full production Monitor machines during setup and early production runs Inspect parts to ensure quality and accuracy Troubleshoot machining or setup issues quickly and effectively Read blueprints and job instructions to understand part requirements Follow quality procedures, including handling non-conforming parts Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace What You Bring Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills Knowledge of tooling, offsets, and machine adjustments Ability to hold tight tolerances on precision parts Basic math skills (geometry & trigonometry) Troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset Attention to detail and commitment to quality Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills

Preferred:

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $40.00/hr.
