In this hands-on machining role, you'll keep parts moving smoothly through the cell, verify quality at each step, and maintain a tidy, safe work area. A Day in the Life Start by reviewing work orders and quality procedures. Set up your machines, dial in speeds and pressures, and run first-piece checks with your gauges. As parts run, you'll watch lights and indicators, make measured adjustments, and correct any issues before they grow. Throughout the shift, you'll confer with your Supervisor on throughput, resolve processing hiccups, and keep the line clean and organized. What You'll Do Set up, operate, and troubleshoot multiple heat treat machines used alongside the thread rolling process. Follow all job travelers and quality procedures to the letter. Tune machine components to control speeds, pressures, temperatures, dimensions, material flow, and amounts. Use control panels to start and manage machinery. Inspect equipment and materials to find root causes of defects or downtime. Measure and verify using calipers, micrometers, and a length gage to ensure conformance. Continuously observe machine operations, indicators, and gauges to detect malfunctions. Clear jams and remove nonconforming product quickly and safely. Review operations and partner with the Supervisor to resolve processing issues. Monitor information from materials, events, and the environment to assess and prevent problems. What You Bring Prefer 1+ year as a roll thread operator in the fastener industry. Consistent reliability and a strong work ethic. Familiarity with
IATF 16949
standards. Experience applying Root Cause Analysis and deductive reasoning. Clear, effective verbal communication. Proven ability to adjust machine settings for speed, pressure, temperature, dimensions, and material flow. Basic understanding of heading machine maintenance.
Comfort with physical work:
lifting, walking, and handling materials. Skilled at prioritizing, organizing, and executing efficiently. Ability to shift between tasks quickly with minimal errors or omissions.
