About Us Qualitex NE LLC is a precision contract manufacturer specializing in orthopedic implants, surgical instruments, and medical device components. Position Overview We are seeking a CNC Setup Machinist with strong experience in medical device manufacturing. This role is critical to ensuring the precision, compliance, and repeatability required for medical components. The machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating Swiss Lathes to produce implants and instruments to exact specifications. Responsibilities Set up and operate Swiss Lathes (Citizen/Star) for production runs. Interpret engineering drawings, setup sheets, and traveler documents Select tooling, offsets, and workholding for medical components Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, pin gages, comparators, and CMM fixtures Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA manufacturing requirements Work closely with quality and engineering teams to refine processes and improve throughput Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Qualifications 3+ years of CNC setup experience (medical device or aerospace industry preferred) Proficient with micrometers, calipers, pin gages, thread gages, and optical comparators Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills Experience with tight tolerances (+/- .0002") and complex geometries Familiarity with
ISO 13485, ISO
