    CNC Machinist
  • Job Description
  • This role offers the opportunity to work as a skilled CNC Machinist in a stable, well‑established manufacturing environment in Indianapolis, IN.
You will set up and operate manual and CNC equipment to produce high‑performance, custom‑engineered metal components used in demanding applications. The position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to interpret technical documentation while working both independently and collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment, including mills and lathes.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining instructions to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances. + Machine metal components to precise specifications and exact tolerances. + Inspect in‑process and finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision inspection tools. + Make machine adjustments and perform tool changes to maintain part quality and production efficiency. + Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure reliable and safe operation. + Collaborate with production and engineering personnel to resolve machining issues and ensure parts meet all quality standards. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop practices and safety guidelines. + Identify and troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues, applying strong mechanical and problem‑solving skills. + Document work as required and communicate status, issues, and improvements clearly to team members and supervisors.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Previous hands‑on machining experience with both manual and CNC machines.
+ Proficiency in operating mills and lathes for metal machining. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining instructions. + Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and common metals and materials. + Ability to perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision inspection tools. + Solid mechanical aptitude and practical problem‑solving ability in a machining environment. + Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with team members. + Consistent reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience operating both manual mills and manual lathes. + Experience operating CNC mills and CNC lathes. + Experience in inspection of machined parts using gauges and precision measuring equipment. + Familiarity with routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting. + Comfort working from detailed work instructions and production schedules.
