The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in operating various machining tools. This role involves fabricating precision parts according to specifications, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring quality control throughout the manufacturing process. The Manual Machinist will work closely with engineers and other machinists to produce high-quality components for our projects. Responsibilities Operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate parts. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand specifications. Utilize CAD software for designing and modifying parts as needed. This is typically provided by front office. Having an ability to create hand drawn drawings of parts that come in is a plus. Perform quality checks using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy. Maintain tooling and equipment in good working condition; perform basic troubleshooting as necessary. We are here to support you and get the tools and equipment you need to be successful. Communicating your needs is important. Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Requirements Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools effectively. Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications. Familiarity with CAD software for design purposes is preferred. Not as important, as stated above. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Knowledge of tooling practices and maintenance is desirable. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
