Job Title:
Swiss Machinist Job Description We are seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machinist to join our night shift team, contributing to the production of high-quality orthopedic and spine instruments and implants. Responsibilities Operate Swiss lathe machinery, including Star SV-20 & SV-32 and
NTX 1000.
Read and interpret blueprints with precision. Complete offsets and change carbide tooling. Manually deburr parts using pencil grinder, stones, hand grinder, and sandpaper. Maintain tight tolerances within +/- .001 to half thou. Read sampling plans, inspection reports, and document part runs in detail. Utilize gauges, micrometers, optical comparators, and other quality instruments; training on CMM will be provided. Check 1 in 5 parts regularly to ensure accuracy and minimize scrapped parts. Essential Skills 3-5+ years of setup and operation experience with CNC Swiss Lathe machinery. 5-7+ years of machining experience with tight tolerances +/- .0001. Proficiency in understanding G- & M-codes. Ability to change tooling and make adjustments to CNC Swiss Lathe. Experience using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, drop indicators, etc. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge in GD&T with the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Mechanical aptitude and editing experience. Job shop experience. Ownership of PMT tools, demonstrating commitment to the trade. Why Work Here? The smaller machine shop environment fosters close collaboration and precision. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mishawaka, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
