Job Description

CNC Machining Supervisor Position Summary The CNC Machining Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume job shop environment, including single-piece and batch production. This role oversees CNC machinists, setups, and programmers while ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily CNC machining operations across mills and lathes Lead, train, and develop CNC operators, setup technicians, and programmers Program and troubleshoot machines using G-code and conversational controls Oversee setups, tooling, and first-article approvals Plan and schedule work in a high-mix job shop environment Interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements Support CAD/CAM programming and process improvements Ensure adherence to quality standards and inspections Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives Maintain safe work environment Required Qualifications Minimum 5+ years CNC machining experience or plus Supervisory or leadership experience Strong experience with CNC mills and lathes Proficiency in G-code programming and conversational controls Experience with CAD/CAM software Ability to read blueprints and GD&T Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience in job shop / high-mix environments Preferred Qualifications Technical degree, certification or higher Experience with 4-axis / 5-axis machining added plus Lean manufacturing experience ERP/MES system experience Key Competencies Leadership and team development Production planning and prioritization Communication and coordination Attention to detail and quality focus Ability to manage multiple priorities
