In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC machines—including CNC lathes and milling machines—using advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software. Your expertise in precision machining, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure the production of high-quality components with exceptional accuracy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment such as Fanuc controls, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and coordinate measuring machines (CMM), contributing directly to our manufacturing excellence and innovation. Duties Operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring precise machining of parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Program CNC machines using CNC programming languages and CAM software to optimize machining processes. Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to produce accurate parts. Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments for each job. Conduct quality inspections using coordinate measuring machines (CMM), dial indicators, and other precision tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. Maintain machine maintenance schedules, troubleshoot issues promptly, and perform basic repairs using hand tools and power tools. Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance safety standards across all machining operations. Collaborate with engineering teams on CNC programming modifications, tooling adjustments, or process improvements for plastics injection molding or other manufacturing processes. Operate forklifts when necessary for material handling within the production area. Support welding, assembly, or other related tasks as needed to ensure seamless production flow. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC mills and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or similar systems. Strong knowledge of CNC programming techniques, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software. Excellent blueprint reading skills combined with a solid understanding of GD&T standards for precision manufacturing. Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes and plastics injection molding is a plus. Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and other machining parameters. Knowledge of tooling setup, hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high attention to detail.
