Machinist

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain a variety of precision machining equipment, including manual lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and mechanical knowledge will ensure that parts meet strict specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and passionate about precision manufacturing. • Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures.
• Load/unload parts of various lengths/diameters onto machines with overhead craning.
• Accurately measure and record product dimensions using micrometers, calipers and measuring tape.
• Maintain, clean and perform routine basic maintenance to manual lathes.
• Determine loading requirements to rig material for lifting
• Occasionally operate mobile equipment (e.g. forklifts)
• Use common hand/power tools (grinders, wrenches, etc.)
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
• Work mandatory overtime as required.
• Report to work regularly and on time.
• Willingly learn new duties
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds. Qualifications/Skills
• Thorough understanding of machining fundamentals (Speeds, feeds, tooling)
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other inspection tools effectively.
• Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during machining processes
• Proven experience operating manual lathes in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical principles relevant to precision machining.

Pay:

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
