- Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team.
In this role, you will operate a variety of manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and machining techniques will be essential in delivering high-quality parts efficiently. Duties Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to produce parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to ensure accurate machining processes. Program and operate CNC machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, utilizing Fanuc controls and CAM programming software. Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and tolerances. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting tools for various machining tasks while adhering to lean manufacturing principles. Perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes when required for complex or hard materials. Maintain a clean, organized workspace by using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery safely and efficiently. Assist with assembly processes when necessary and support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment. Operate forklifts as needed for material handling while following safety protocols. Experience Proven experience as a Manual Machinist with a strong background in machining operations on both manual and CNC equipment. Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred. Solid understanding of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and assembly procedures. Skilled in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics accurately. Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes including tooling setup, calibration of precision instruments like micrometers and bore gauges. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances necessary for accurate machining. Experience working with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general CAD programs for part design review is advantageous.
