Manual machining role focused on operating lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to cut, bore, drill, and inspect components to specification. Job Requirements Experience operating manual machining equipment Experience using lathes Experience using milling machines Experience using drill presses Experience using grinders Ability to manually cut, bore, and drill materials to strict tolerances Experience selecting cutting tools Experience calculating feed rates and speeds Ability to set up and calibrate machines from scratch Experience using precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers Preferred Skills Manual machinist experience Experience working from specifications or technical drawings Experience inspecting finished components Experience verifying dimensional accuracy Experience controlling cutting tools using hand cranks Job Responsibilities Use hand cranks to control cutting tools on manual machining equipment Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders Manually cut materials to required tolerances Manually bore materials to required tolerances Manually drill materials to required tolerances Select proper cutting tools for each machining operation Calculate feed rates and speeds Calibrate machine setups from scratch Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools Verify completed components match required specifications
