$37.67/hour Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical expertise in a dynamic rail environment. You'll report to the Maintenance Supervisor in Baltimore and work alongside experienced, safety-driven, and collaborative teammates. You'll ensure the performance and safety of our locomotives and passenger coaches by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing key mechanical systems in accordance with OEM, FRA, DOT, and Alstom standards. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams, manage work orders, and support rail operations through hands-on mechanical work. You'll specifically take care of engine and brake system diagnostics and repairs, but also support train movements and perform component inspections and replacements. We'll look to you for: Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing engines, air brake systems, and running gear Ensuring compliance with FRA and Alstom safety and operational standards Managing equipment work orders using our asset management system Operating locomotives and passenger coaches as part of a team Supporting additional duties as outlined in the union agreement All about you We value passion and attitude over experience. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role: High School diploma or GED Heavy mechanical repair experience Valid Driver's License Ability to obtain Qualified Maintenance Person (QMP) designation Experience reading and interpreting blueprints Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook)
