Job Description

We're creating a NEW night shift! Join our team! 3 nights per week - 12 hours per night Utilize your skills and talents in a rewarding position that requires only 3 shifts per week! Consider a night shift machinist position at Akkerman Inc. in Brownsdale MN! Akkerman Inc. is a third-generation family-owned business and is NOT a typical high-volume assembly line. Job Summary:
Akkerman Inc. is currently seeking to add an exceptional CNC Machinist to its team of outstanding employees. The ideal candidate will have experience operating, setting up, and programming CNC Machine Tool (mills or Lathes), with a strong understanding of technical drawings and precision measurement tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC Machine Tool (mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines) to produce parts according to specifications. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations. Adjust machine settings, tools, and offsets to maintain quality and tolerances. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines. Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect parts. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to optimize machining processes. Document work by completing piece part inspections.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-year technical degree or 4 years of experience, Lathe or Mill Overtime available.
