Job Description Joining Collins Aerospace isn't just about finding a job; it's about embarking on a journey to redefine the future of aerospace. Our Burnsville facility supplies products for both air and spacecraft. We have a rare opportunity for an experienced machinist to join our Burnsville team. You will work in a state-of-the-art climate-controlled shop creating both routine and custom pieces. You will enjoy both autonomy and support and have the opportunity to apply your problem-solving skills. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Production Machining Project Machining Manual Bridgeport Mill and Manual Lathe Capable of set-ups, inspections, blueprint reading, and production processes. Set up machines to perform operations within its capability by positioning, aligning, securing work, utilizing, and adapting appropriate tools. Demonstrate the analytical skills that are necessary for machine adjustments and performing the machining process. Demonstrate proper use of inspection equipment including indicators, micrometers, calipers, and surface plates. Inspect and certify own work. Work independent with minimal support for problem solving. Upkeep of production equipment. Perform daily, quarterly, annual PM on equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE
Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Strong understanding of CNC lathes and mills U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62 Ability to safely set up and operate manual mill and lathe
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER
Machinist Technical School Certificate/Diploma. 2+ years of Manual Mill/Lathe experience. Bridgeport experience Production manufacturing experience. Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks. Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprint and technical documentation. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
