Job Description
Is this you? Do you thrive on turning a blueprint into a flawless metal part? Can you set up a CNC mill or lathe, set offsets, and validate your work with precision gauges? Are you just as comfortable deburring and documenting as you are editing a line of G-code? If you also enjoy variety—moving between CNC equipment and, when needed, presses, brakes, or other fab tools—keep reading. What you'll do Own setups and operation on CNC and/or manual equipment to meet exact specifications Read and interpret prints, drawings, setup sheets, and work orders with confidence Choose and install the right tooling, fixtures, and workholding for repeatable results Load programs, tweak offsets, and watch cycle performance for accuracy and surface quality Verify dimensions with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other precision tools Handle secondary processes: deburring, drilling, tapping, and minor finishing Make minor program edits or mechanical adjustments (as appropriate) Diagnose and resolve setup or machining issues to limit scrap and downtime Log production details and quality checks accurately Perform basic maintenance—cleaning, lubrication, and routine tool changes Adhere to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards at all times Must-haves Experience with CNC and/or fabrication machinery (mills, lathes, presses, brakes, etc.) Ability to understand technical drawings and follow work instructions Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection practices Knowledge of machining processes, tolerances, and material characteristics Detail orientation and a strong commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a production team Bonus points Hands-on CNC setup and offset expertise Comfort with G-code or conversational controls such as Mazatrol CAD/CAM or CNC programming exposure Experience with multi-axis machining Lean/continuous improvement mindset Personal hand tools available if the shop requires The environment Active manufacturing setting with machinery, noise, and shop materials Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to lift 40-50 lbs as needed PPE must be worn as required Role specifics Full-time, onsite position Shift availability may include day or night shift Compensation and title aligned with experience level
