Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Roll Shop Machinist includes, but is not limited to: The safe and efficient programming and the operation of CNC lathes and rebar notching & Cammann Burning machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking roll sets, documenting turnings, maintaining a current roll inventory, and maintaining a current tooling inventory. The Roll Shop Machinist will also be responsible for the maintenance and preventative maintenance of Roll Shop equipment. Candidates should also possess the ability to learn a Cam system and be willing to help as needed in all areas of the Roll Shop and Roll Mill. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Familiar with QMOS System High School Diploma or equivalent Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with roll shop and/or bar or shape rolling experience Familiar or experience with Fago Lathe controls Knowledge of AutoCad and/or Cam software Strong mechanical knowledge 2-4 year technical degree Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
