Increased demand from our prestigious client base necessitates increased staffing. Our fast-paced Machine Shop is seeking an experienced machinist to join our team. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team, 2-4 years of direct Machine Shop experience as a Machinist preferred. The ideal candidate's responsibilities include basic CNC programming, Cad, Job planning, intermediate set up and operation of select shop automated and manual /conventional equipment based on machine experience type (Lathe or Mill). In addition, the Machinist must have the ability to read blueprints, manufacturer and inspect parts. Must have the ability and willingness to work unsupervised and assist in the mentorship and instruction of Operators. Duties Basic CNC programming and may include Basic CAD knowledge. The Machinist is responsible for generating the set-up information, operating procedures for product machining. Program CNC machines using CAM programming software and interpret G-code or M-code instructions. CNC programed, and paperwork created in a manner that all Operator III and above personnel can setup and run in future runs. Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to produce accurate components. Tooling and fixture set up and fixture generation, as required. The Machinist is responsible for first piece manufacturing and inspection to ensure product conformity, as well as completing additional in-process inspections, as required. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions. Perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes when required for complex or hard materials. Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling, and other equipment for assembly or modifications as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards. Assist in troubleshooting machine issues and perform basic maintenance on equipment. Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype development or process improvements related to CNC programming and machining techniques. Awareness of allotted time in operation step and execute duties within the allotted or reasonable time. Requirements Proven experience as a Machinist with proficiency in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam or similar program. Experience or willingness to learn conversational programming for Mazak and Mori Seiki machines. Strong understanding of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawing interpretation. Hands-on experience with CNC milling machines, CNC lathes and CNC mill/turn machines, and manual machining tools. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), bore gauges, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments. Mechanical aptitude combined with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize production efficiency. Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
