Job Description

Summary Machine Tool Maintenance 2 As the largest machine tool builder in the western world, we need world-class talent in all of our departments. Machine Tool Maintenance 2 is responsible for performing routine service on all CNC machines in the Machine Shop. Also solves electrical and mechanical problems and maintains the service database. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Understands/Adheres to safety requirements within the department and company. Works with Maintenance Coordinator and SAP work order list. Must leave machines clean and completely assembled at the end of each job. Do not leave any covers or filters off the machine. Operates and maintains the coolant support equipment. This includes De-ionized water system, coolant mixing unit, waste water recycling and system oil recycling equipment. Keeps equipment area clean and organized. Responsible for recognizing new or unusual failures and report them accurately to the Facilities Manager. Must work with minimum supervision. Locates, maintains and organizes CNC machine manuals. Assist in the installation of CNC machines; this includes layout, coring and installing anchors. Uses and understand the proper measuring devices. Uses refractometer and know the proper percentage of coolant and how to adjust,change filters, oil, and any minor repairs pertaining to preventive maintenance program. Performs routine repairs on CNC machines and supporting equipment. Identifies potential problems on CNC machines and other equipment. Communicates problems, solutions, and recommends repairs to operations and all levels of management. Uses machine manuals such as schematics, troubleshooting instructions, parts and operations, to solve problems. Controls the machines in MDI mode for troubleshooting. Maneuvers from screen to screen on machine controls. Able to get to ladders and programing. Works with little to no supervision Employees must report any damage to a supervisor or manager. Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc. Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies. Minimum Qualifications Knowledgeable in identify the correct hand tools and when to use them. Understands the oil used in the machines and what it is used for. Full knowledge of machine tools and their use. Knows the main parts of a CNC machine. Understands the geometry of a CNC machine and its effects on machining. Fully understands hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical for CNC machines. Understands the resources available and knowledge in how to use them; this includes: SAP, internet, contractors, and vendors. Desired Qualifications Education High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) credential such as general education degree (GED) is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Major Other Minimum Years of Experience 5-10 years Language Skills Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents; such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Have ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Able to speak effectively before groups, customers, and/or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must have the ability to apply concepts of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to apply common sense and understanding in order to carry out written, oral, and/or diagram instruction forms. Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
