Job Description

Position Overview The Machinist I is responsible for operating both CNC and manual machining equipment, including grinding and milling machines, to produce precision components. This role requires the ability to fabricate and repair parts based on detailed blueprints and technical drawings while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards. The Machinist works under the direction of the Cell Supervisor or Work Leader and supports overall production goals.

$25.00/hour

Direct Hire Key Responsibilities Operate CNC and manual machining equipment to manufacture precision parts Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate production Set up machines, align fixtures, and secure materials for machining processes Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and tooling as required Replace cutting tools to maintain product quality and compliance Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting Utilize precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, etc.) to verify tolerances Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate production documentation Safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Collaborate effectively within a team setting while also working independently when needed Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and code of conduct standards Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of hands-on machining experience (manual machining required) High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or machining certification preferred Strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing environments Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) Basic math skills for measurements and calculations Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal) Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions Technical Skills Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.) Experience with hand tools and shop equipment (grinders, drills, layout tools, etc.) Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Office applications Physical Requirements Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the shift Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 30 lbs occasionally Ability to push or pull materials up to 500 lbs using proper equipment Must pass required vision and hearing exams Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Work Environment Manufacturing setting with exposure to moving machinery and mechanical equipment Occasional exposure to varying temperatures (heat and cold) Loud work environment requiring adherence to safety protocols Additional Expectations Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and attention to detail Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude Contribute to a team-oriented culture focused on achieving company objectives Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2023-06/22-088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdf The pay transparency policy is available here: https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ofccp/pdf/pay-transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdf For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AppleOne is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
