About Us:
Abasco Inc is a leader in the high-spec manufacturing sector. We specialize in producing high-quality components with tight tolerances, and we're looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our growing team.
Position Overview:
The CNC machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CNC lathes and mills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce components to exact specifications Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications Perform tool changes, offsets, and program adjustments as needed Inspect parts using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Maintain production documentation and quality records Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure efficient workflow Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work area clean and organized Collaborate with engineering and quality teams when required
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of CNC machine operation experience Strong knowledge of G-code, tooling, and machining principles Ability to set up machines from scratch (not just operate) Ability to hold tight tolerances and work with a variety of materials Strong understanding of safety procedures Good problem-solving and communication skills
