Machinist
  • Manual Milling (Bridgeport) 📍 Rochester, NY 💰 $24
  • 26/hour 🕒 Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM
  • 3:30 PM 📄 Contract-to-Hire Position Overview We are looking for a skilled Machinist with hands-on experience operating manual Bridgeport milling machines .
In this role, you will produce precision components from engineering drawings while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in craftsmanship and enjoys working in a traditional machine shop environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual Bridgeport mills to produce precision parts Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining processes Perform machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping, and boring Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to ensure accuracy and surface finish Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges Complete machine setups, adjustments, and basic preventative maintenance Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections Support lathe operations as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Preferred Skills & Experience Experience operating and setting up manual Bridgeport milling machines Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints Proficiency in manual machining techniques (milling, drilling, tapping, boring) Hands-on experience performing full machine setups Skilled in using precision measurement tools Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality Preferred Qualifications Experience with both manual mills and lathes in a production environment Exposure to basic machining programming or parameter adjustments Background in traditional/conventional machine shop environments Interest in continuing education or certifications in machining Why Join Us? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00
  • $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
