1023 - Small Manual Machinist

Overview We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various machining equipment. This role is crucial for producing high-quality components and ensuring that all specifications and tolerances are met. The Machinist will work closely with engineers and production staff to maintain efficiency and quality standards.

DUTIES:

1. Operate the machine(s) to achieve maximum throughput and utilization. Inform management of anticipated and actual completion times. 2. Review the machine line up (schedule) on a daily basis. 3. Retrieve data and create programs, as required, to maximize machine utilization. 4. Operate the machine(s) to achieve maximum throughput and utilization. Inform management of anticipated and actual completion times. 5. Inform management of anticipated conflicts for future operations. 6. Ensure parts machined match current data and meet tolerance requirements. 7. Participate in activity to improve throughput or utilization. 8. Maintain a clean and organized work area. 9. Complete required preventative maintenance activity. 10. Mentor trainee(s) a. Machine operation. b. Machining methods. c. Assign Small Manual Machine tasks to trainee(s) to meet schedule demands. d. Assist with evaluation and development of trainee(s). 11. Collaborate with Department Supervisor as it relates to capacity issues specific to Small Manual Machines based on deliveries. 12. Interact with other departments for specific on demand tasks. 13. Assist with Subcontracting domestic.

CLIMATE:

Work is coordinated through the applicable supervisor and communicated through the machine line up. Will work to ensure proper tooling / proper material / proper set up items are available, when required, and are used with maximum efficiency (may entail teamwork). The machine operator / programmer must be conscientious and persistent about working to meet or beat department utilization and throughput goals.
