Essential Functions Set up CNC mills for production runs Prove out and inspect first‑piece parts for each setup Troubleshoot, edit, and optimize programs at the control (primarily G‑code) Document program changes and setup processes for repeatability and efficiency Oversee part quality within the machining cell Plan tooling needs proactively to minimize downtime Apply proper feeds, speeds, cutter compensation, and modern machining strategies Inspect and deburr parts using appropriate measuring tools; ensure all parts meet blueprint specifications Assist in producing jigs and fixtures to improve productivity Operate equipment safely and prevent machine damage Perform basic preventative maintenance and maintain a clean work area Follow all safety policies and procedures Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements Minimum 4years of independent CNC mill setup and operation experience in a job‑shop environment Strong understanding of CNC programming structure, tooling theory, and speeds/feeds Experience with Fanuc controls preferred Manual programming or program editing experience is a plus Experience with horizontal mills (e.g., Makino) helpful but not required Ability to interpret blueprints and inspect critical dimensions; strong GD&T skills preferred Personal measuring tools are a plus (company can supply and calibrate as needed) Ability to work with a wide variety of complex parts Adaptability to changing production schedules Dependable, detail‑oriented, and quality‑focused expertise in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
