Lathe Operator

We are looking for a talented and experienced Lathe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, a thorough understanding of mechanical drawings and dimensional tolerances, and a passion for precision and craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities Machine electric motor armature shafts, including tapering and threading. Read and interpret mechanical drawings to produce parts with precise tolerances. Set up and operate various machines, including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses, to produce components to specifications. Perform threading operations using lathes and milling machines. Identify and understand steel types, properties, and characteristics to determine appropriate machining processes. Complete machining reports and maintain accurate paperwork. Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards. Assist with general laborer duties and provide support to the Brake Division as required.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of machining experience (preferred).

Skills:

• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and dimensional tolerances.
• Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
• Knowledge of steel properties and machining techniques.
• Familiarity with operating overhead cranes and forklifts (certification preferred).
