About the Role We are looking for a skilled Precision Machinist to join our team, focusing on the fabrication and restoration of heavy-duty industrial components. You will play a vital role in maintaining production uptime by ensuring high-precision parts are manufactured to exact specifications using manual machining techniques. Responsibilities Operate manual lathes and mills to produce custom components for industrial machinery. Utilize surface grinders, drill presses, and dynamic balancers to achieve precise finishes and tolerances. Interpret complex blueprints and technical schematics to guide the fabrication process. Perform rigorous quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauge blocks to ensure tolerances within .001 inches. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and repair worn parts to extend the lifecycle of equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while adhering to all shop safety standards. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with manual lathes and milling machines. Proficiency in reading and applying technical blueprints and geometric symbols. Strong mathematical aptitude for precise measurement and tolerance control. Must possess a personal set of standard machinist tools. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for extended periods. Preferred Skills Experience with CNC milling or turning centers (Fanuc, Makino, or similar controls). Proven track record of maintaining high safety standards in a machine shop environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.
