Major Areas of Responsibility Include Maintain high productivity while following all established procedures. Understand and follow the machine shop schedule while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the machine shop. Maintain high morale with employees while meeting or exceeding performance and quality expectations. Specific Responsibilities Operates machine tools, including but not limited to: Manual and CNC lathes, milling machines and grinding machines Operates power tools, including: die grinders and rotary tools Uses hand tools such as files and honing stones Utilizes computer aided technologies, (CNC, CAM, and Conversational Programming ). Communicates any component damage and/or maintenance issues to the Technical Services Manager. Prioritize daily and weekly tasks. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Successful completion of relevant machinist program. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience preferred. Strong mechanical background preferred. Prior experience working with Aluminum, Beryllium Copper and Stainless Steel is highly desirable. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Walk and stand for the majority of the job Have good motor skills Lift 75 lbs occasionally. Frequently bend, squat and climb, and reach above shoulder level, occasionally crawl, as well as turn, twist, pull, and push. Climb and utilize ladders and scaffolds.
