Job Description

Manual Lathe Machinist/Mechanic 2149 Bushkill Park Drive, Easton, PA 18040 Part-time, Full-time Part-time, Full-time We are currently seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to join our team. This position is centered on precision machining and the operation of manual lathes to support the repair and rebuilding of industrial equipment, including pumps, electric motors, and blowers. This role requires a high level of accuracy, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with tight tolerances in demanding repair environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on machining experience and be comfortable fabricating, modifying, and restoring components used in industrial applications. You will play a critical role in producing and repairing parts that keep essential equipment operating under real-world conditions. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes to machine shafts, bushings, sleeves, and other precision components. Perform measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools to ensure tight tolerances. Repair and fabricate parts for pumps, motors, and rotating equipment. Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Assist with disassembly and reassembly of industrial equipment as needed. Diagnose wear patterns and machining requirements for damaged components. Maintain machining equipment and ensure safe, clean work practices. Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to support rebuild projects. Occasionally assist with on-site work, including installations and equipment removal. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience operating manual lathes in a machining or repair environment. Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and material properties. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience using precision measuring instruments. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Basic computer skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work. Valid driver's license. Willingness to work overtime when required. Preferred Experience Industrial machining or repair shop experience. Experience machining components for pumps, motors, or rotating equipment. Familiarity with bearing fits, shaft repair, and sleeve installation. Background in mechanical repair, millwright work, or industrial maintenance. Experience with 3-phase motors (240/480V) is a plus. Welding or fabrication experience is a bonus.
