Job Description

About the Role As a 5-Axis CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in producing complex, high-precision components that drive innovation in the medical device industry. You will leverage your expertise in multi-axis machining to independently manage setups, ensure dimensional accuracy, and optimize production workflows for mission-critical parts. Responsibilities Execute complete machine setups for Mazak Integrex and Variaxis platforms using technical documentation and process sheets. Drive quality outcomes by performing first article inspections and monitoring machining processes to meet stringent tolerances. Optimize production efficiency by managing tool offsets, verifying tool condition, and performing routine preventative maintenance. Interpret complex engineering blueprints, including GD&T requirements, to ensure all parts meet exact geometric specifications. Troubleshoot machining challenges in real-time to minimize downtime and maintain consistent, high-quality output. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to refine manufacturing processes and support continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up 5-axis CNC machining centers. Demonstrated proficiency with Mazak equipment and Mazatrol control systems. Advanced ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Strong technical competence with precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators. Preferred Skills Experience machining diverse materials including titanium, stainless steel, and specialty medical-grade plastics. Proven track record of working independently in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization and defect reduction.
