Full Job Description Description:
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Machinist II who will be responsible for operating, setting up, and troubleshooting a variety of machining equipment, including CNC and manual machines, to produce high-precision parts. This mid-level role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, blueprint reading, and quality control procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in machining operations, be proficient with measuring tools, and demonstrate problem-solving abilities to optimize production efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate precision components Read and analyze blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine job specifications, tolerances, and tooling requirements Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety Diagnose machine issues, perform routine maintenance, and collaborate with maintenance teams for complex repairs Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring a clean and organized work environment. Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to optimize production and troubleshoot machining challenges Reports defective materials, discrepancies, process malfunctions or completed products that are not in compliance with company and/or customer specifications to the Department Lead Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations Completes all necessary paperwork as required, including in process or carbon copy production sheets
Requirements:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment preferred Proficiency in operating CNC and manual machining equipment Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality control techniques Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions Basic mathematical skills, including understanding measurements and tolerances Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
