Job Description

Comact is a North American leader in the design and manufacturing of equipment for wood processing mills. The company primarily serves the North American market, in addition to serving international clients. Comact offers the most comprehensive range of products on the market. Producing everything from mechanical equipment, PLCs and optimization systems equipped with digital vision scanners. Our products also deliver fully automated production lines. The company has over 2000 employees working in our divisions located across North America. As an Inspector you will inspect a large variety of machined parts using a variety of inspection tools according to required specifications of the part. Knowing how to select the correct inspection tool and properly inspect a new part with tolerances as tight as .0002" is mandatory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct operational or production activities.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures, quality assurance manuals, and quality control parts.
  • Document organizational or operational procedures.
  • Monitor organizational procedures to ensure proper functioning.
  • Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Review quality documentation necessary for regulatory submissions and inspections.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Ability to stand for 10 hours a day and lift 50lbs. Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong machining background.
  • Proficiency in machined part inspection tools and processes
  • High ability to analyze and strong attention to detail
  • Minimum of (4) years relative industry experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
