Machinist

GEAR, LLC

is looking to hire Machinists with experience in both manual and CNC machining processes in the Maryville, TN area. Pay starts at $20.00/hour with opportunities for growth.

Duties:

• Performing maintenance on injection molding equipment, including teardown, cleaning, and repair
• Accurately preparing and cutting raw materials to shape using manually controlled machine tools as well as hand tools
• Reading blueprints, sketches, or other specification documents to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces
• Selecting, setting up, and operating appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation for machining
• Operating CNC mills and lathes
• Inspect finished products for defects or deviations from specifications using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges and micrometers, ensuring all quality standards are maintained
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize production processes
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines at all times

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Machinist, both with manual and CNC machines
• Proficiency in ProtoTRAK controls
• Strong knowledge of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and GD&T principles
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, as well as attention to detail
• Working knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry for calculations in all units of measure, rate, ratio, and percent computations, and bar graph interpretation
• Knowledge of hydraulic and air-clamping systems is a plus

From $20.00 per hour
