Job Description

DestructiveDevices.com specializes in the design and manufacture of military-related equipment, inert ordnance, museum displays, and film-production props. Our work includes high-quality, low- to medium-volume manufacturing projects involving large-caliber firearms-related components, military replicas, restorations, and historically accurate display items. We are a locally owned, fully climate-controlled (Heated and cooled) shop in Paris, Tennessee, focused on precision craftsmanship, problem-solving, and unique manufacturing challenges. If you are a CNC machinist with an interest in military history, weapons systems, or complex machining, this is an opportunity to work on projects unlike anything in a typical production environment. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our team. Keeping all machines operating efficiently, including: 2026 Multi-Axis CNC Lathe with automatic bar feeder 2019 CNC Lathe 2019 4-Axis CNC Mill 2016 Omax 80X Tilt-a-Jet waterjet This position is ideal for a machinist who enjoys setup work, programming, prototype-style manufacturing, and short production runs rather than repetitive, high-volume production.

No prior firearms or military-industry experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate on the specific products and applications used in our shop. Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery. CAD Modeling Maintain production across multiple machines simultaneously. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models. Produce precision components to required tolerances and specifications. Assist with tooling selection, workholding, and process optimization. Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy. Work closely with management and shop personnel on custom manufacturing projects. Help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient shop environment. Required Qualifications Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills. Familiarity with multi-axis machining. Ability to independently set up and troubleshoot jobs. Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, feeds/speeds, and tolerancing. Ability to read prints and use precision measuring equipment. Experience with prototype, custom, or low-volume manufacturing environments preferred. Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
