Job Description

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world. ​ Job Overview The Machinist II is responsible for operating common machine tools, understanding material properties, and producing parts to close tolerances. This role also performs injection mold servicing, basic preventative maintenance, and tooling adjustments to support high‑quality production in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This position works closely with the production floor, tool room, and engineering teams to ensure molds, tooling, and equipment operate reliably and safely.
Shift:
Monday - Friday 2 pm - 10:30 pm with training completed during 1st shift. Job Requirements Machining & Technical Work Operate common machine tools and equipment to produce precision components to close tolerances. Safely navigate and work around machine shop and mold shop equipment. Read, interpret, and work from tooling prints, part prints, and technical documentation. Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools for measurement and verification. Injection Mold Service Technician Responsibilities Perform basic preventative maintenance (PMs) on all production injection molds. Execute key and mod changes on molds, including Discreet, Module, Larson, and Frames molds. Service hot runner manifolds and perform component-level repairs. Assist with spare tooling inventory management. Use ultrasonic cleaning systems to clean and maintain molds. Disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble, and document mold conditions and work performed. Use tools such as ohm meters, gauges, and hand tools to support mold PM and troubleshooting. Production & Workflow Support Partner with production to schedule routine and non-routine mold PMs. Support streamlined production by responding to tooling or mold issues promptly. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, mold status, measurements, and repairs. What your background should look like High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 4 years of related machining or mold technician experience. Vocational training, apprenticeship, or an AA degree in machining, toolmaking, or related field preferred. Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, materials, and shop math. Experience servicing injection molds, performing PMs, and executing tooling adjustments. Ability to read and interpret tooling prints, part prints, and technical instructions. Proficient using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and common mold maintenance tools. Familiarity with hot runner systems, mold disassembly/assembly, and mold cleaning processes. Comfortable using ultrasonic cleaning systems and basic diagnostic tools (e.g., ohm meters). Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced mold shop environment.

COMPENSATION
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $41,900 - $62,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
