JOB SUMMARY:
Seeking an experienced CNC Saw Operator to temporarily join our Night Shift manufacturing team in Cedar Park, TX. This role is responsible for independently setting up and operating manual and automatic-feed saws while supporting downstream machining operations. Must be capable of managing multiple saws concurrently (typically 2-3 machines), prioritizing work according to dispatch requirements, maintaining equipment reliability, verifying quality through dimensional inspection, and performing secondary operations including deburring and pin stamping. Works onsite, temporary night shift and reports to a supervisor.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Independently set up and operate manual, semi-automatic, and automatic-feed band saws.
  • Manage and monitor multiple saws simultaneously (typically 2-3 machines) while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
  • Prioritize and execute work according to production dispatch reports, ensuring jobs are processed in the proper sequence to support customer requirements and machining operations.
  • Independently manage daily workload, machine priorities, and production flow with limited supervision.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, routers, work orders, and cut lists.
  • Calculate cut lengths and material utilization requirements using basic shop math.
  • Determine and adjust proper feed rates, blade speeds, and cutting parameters based on material type, size, and alloy.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using hand-held metrology equipment to verify dimensional compliance with blueprint, router, and work order requirements.
  • Verify material dimensions and cut lengths meet engineering and customer specifications.
  • Load, unload, and stage material utilizing overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Support CNC lathe and mill operations by maintaining continuous material flow and minimizing production interruptions.
  • Deburr, polish, clean, and pin stamp finished parts to engineering and customer specifications.
  • Perform saw blade inspections, blade changes, and machine setup adjustments as required.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities including lubrication, cleaning, inspection, and basic equipment upkeep.
  • Identify equipment abnormalities, blade wear, quality concerns, and maintenance issues before they impact production.
  • Identify and properly disposition nonconforming material or parts in accordance with company procedures.
  • Organize and maintain work areas in accordance with 5S and visual workplace standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing, machining, metalworking, saw operation, or related industrial experience required.
  • Experience setting up and operating manual or automatic-feed saws required.
  • Experience managing multiple machines simultaneously in a production environment preferred.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections using hand-held metrology equipment required.
  • Experience using overhead cranes and material handling equipment preferred.
  • Experience supporting CNC machining operations preferred.
WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and material handling operations.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and material handling throughout the shift.
  • Ability to regularly lift materials and products up to 40 pounds.
