MACHINISTS
(Manual and CNC Lathe/Mill Operators) Are you an experienced Manual or CNC Lathe / Mill Operator with skill for precision and detail? We have an opportunity for you to join our leading manufacturing team. We specialize in producing high quality parts and machines for the snack food industry and are seeking skilled and dedicated machinists to help us continue delivering superior quality products to our esteemed clients. This position is permanent and offers an exciting opportunity to work with the latest CNC machinery in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a company that has been in business over 70 years.
RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models to understand the specifications and requirements of the product.
  • Set up, operate and maintain CNC lathe/milling machines to produce high quality parts.
  • Utilize various measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to inspect and ensure the accuracy of the machined parts.
  • Perform 1st article inspection to verify conformance to specifications and adjust machine controls as necessary.
  • Understand and interpret G codes and conversational programing and make modifications as required.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling based on the material type and production requirements.
  • Monitor the machining process and identify any machine malfunctions or tooling issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiative and suggest ways to improve efficiently and product quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a manual or CNC Lathe and/or Mill Operator in the manufacturing industry or certification of completion from a machinist school.
  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining CNC lathe and milling machines.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and G code and conversational programming.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to produce high quality work.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
A certificate or degree in a related field will be a plus.
