Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC lathes to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and technical troubleshooting will drive efficiency and excellence in our production line. Duties Operate CNC lathe machines, primarily Fanuc-controlled systems, to produce complex parts with high precision. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining. Program CNC lathes using CAM programming software and make necessary adjustments for optimal performance. Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Conduct routine inspections of machined parts utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other precision tools to verify dimensions. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing processes and reducing waste throughout the machining cycle. Assist with assembly tasks Proven experience operating CNC lathes, particularly Fanuc systems or similar controls. Strong knowledge of CNC programming techniques and CAM programming software. Ability to read blueprints accurately and apply GD&T principles effectively. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and maintenance procedures. Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances. Knowledge of manufacturing environments including plastics injection molding or welding is advantageous. Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, and other equipment in a manufacturing setting. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
