This position requires expertise in operating conventional machining equipment, maintaining precise tolerances, and producing high-quality components in a shop environment.

Essential Duties:

Operate manual machining equipment including horizontal lathes, milling machines, VTLs, Bullards, drill presses, and grinders to manufacture and repair precision components Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine machining requirements Set up machines by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job Perform machining operations including turning, boring, threading, facing, drilling, milling, and grinding Measure and verify dimensions using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other calibrated measuring tools Maintain tolerances as close as .0005" while ensuring high-quality workmanship Inspect incoming and completed parts for defects, wear, and compliance with specifications Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to improve efficiency and accuracy Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery and equipment Document completed work, measurements, and any deviations from specifications Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and shop personnel to resolve technical and production-related issues Assist with disassembly, repair, and reassembly of mechanical components as required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and PPE requirements

Requirements/Skills:

High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience as a Manual Machinist required Experience with OMEGA systems preferred Proficiency operating horizontal lathes, milling machines, VTLs, and Bullard machines Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints Proficient in the use of calibrated measuring instruments and inspection tools Ability to maintain machining tolerances of .0005" or better Strong understanding of machining principles, practices, and shop mathematics Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Effective verbal and written communication skills Valid driver's license required Ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol screening, and background check Must be authorized to work in the

United States Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance Ability to climb, kneel, crawl, bend, balance, and reach as required Manual dexterity to safely operate machinery, tooling, and assembly equipment Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise, and metal particles Must not have allergies or sensitivities related to handling industrial metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel
