PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates manual machines and bench task in the fabrication, maintenance, repair and alteration of pumps, parts, castings, tools and equipment.
To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have a general knowledge of 1) estimating time and materials for machine jobs, 2) materials and the quality and machinability carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys and other materials, 3) machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance, 4) design techniques, tools and principals involved in the production of precision machined parts. PRIMARY DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. Reads and interprets drawings. Uses precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools and equipment. Fabricates and shapes items such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics, and composites Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures, and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production Ability to track parts and jobs in EPICOR ERP
system. Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions Inspects and tests equipment to locate damaged or worn parts and assist in the diagnosis of malfunctions. Read job travelers and drawings determine required repairs. Use proper mechanical equipment and tools. Ability to fill out service addendum and understand bills of material. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SPECIAL SKILLS
3-5 years related experience (Journeymen certification preferred) High school diploma or GED required Knowledge of EPICOR ERP
system and Microsoft Office a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions. Work requires frequent and prolonged computer use. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, walk, smell, and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds. May utilize a lifting device as required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to navigate facility.
