Non-Exempt Position Overview:
Support company operations by setting up, operating and maintaining TIG and MIG welding equipment. Working with aluminum and or stainless to repair or modify vessels and fabricate replacement parts as directed by the shop manager. May operate any of the metal working floor or hand tools in the Machine shop.
Position Responsibilities:
- Typical duties include but are not limited to the following. Specific duties vary by assignment.
- Purchase and maintain a tool set reasonable to perform the job function.
- Assemble or fabricate metal structures and equipment by measuring, cutting, shaping bend, drill and welding in all positions as needed.
- Produce metal components or products according or employer specifications
- Use a variety of hand and floor standing tools.
- Support production by, reading blueprints and producing those parts drawn to company requirements.
- Perform any other metal shop function including all other duties as assigned.
- Safety lock out tag and report to supervisor all tools and equipment that is damaged, broken, inoperable or unsafe to use.
- Practices good housekeeping and tool control. Maintain awareness of the safety program at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
