The primary responsibility of this role is to cut and prepare various parts and materials to specified requirements. Reporting to the Materials Lab Supervisor, the person in this role will work with the Materials Lab team to execute Technical Evaluation and Investigation section objectives in support of Material Quality engineering functions. What you'll be doing Translate analytical requests into actual requirements for sample preparation. Cut parts and material to create specimens for lab analysis. Maintain, comply, and support Lab Safety requirements and workplace organization standards. Utilize standardized work methods and machine operating procedures to ensure proper sample preparation. Identify and communicate abnormalities in processes and information. Support general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and calibration of machine shop equipment. Actively lead/initiate problem-solving activities to identify root cause, countermeasures and prevent recurrence. Qualifications/ What you bring (Must Haves) - Highlight Top 3-5 skills Highschool diploma (or higher education) Experience cutting metal parts to specific requirements. Ability to communicate with requesting engineers. Ability to recognize and resolve equipment issues. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook. Added bonus if you have (Preferred): Experience with any of the following tools and machines: Precision wet saw Water jet cutter Pneumatic tools Tool and Die maintenance CNC Mill CNC Lathe Welding (TIG or MIG) Experience working in a laboratory environment
