Swiss/Lathe Machinist

Overview SB Machining is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Swiss/Screw Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Swiss-type and traditional CNC lathes to produce ultra high-quality precision components. Candidates with strong CNC lathe experience who are eager to cross-train into Swiss-type machining are also encouraged to apply. Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Swiss-type CNC lathes.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and detect malfunctions.
• Manage bar stock feeding, guide bushing adjustments, and tooling changes.
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications using various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, surface finish comparators).
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Document production activities and complete quality control records. Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating and/or programming Swiss-type CNC lathes, or 3+ years of CNC lathe experience with a willingness to cross-train on Swiss-type equipment.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with multi-axis Swiss machines, live tooling, or sub-spindle operations is a significant advantage.

Pay:

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
