Machinist Night Shift

NIGHT SHIFT

Monday-Friday 4pm start time! 1.0 SUMMARY Produce machined parts by setting up and operating manual lathe and mill machines by cutting materials based on specifications in a blueprint 2.0 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

• Produces finished parts to meet blueprint specifications
• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, materials specifications, interpreting dimensions and tolerances, mathematics, sequence of operations, and set up requirements
• Plans tooling and stock/materials needed
• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material as guide for subsequent machining
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as stock feed, coolant flow, speed, depth, and angle of cut
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts controls as required; replacing dull tools
• Shape steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, and magnesium
• Uses lathes and horizontal boring equipment
• Maintains production and quality logs 3.

AND SPECIFICATIONS

• Must be able to read and interpret Blueprints
• Must be able to use Micrometer and Calipers
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to QC own work and work of the team
• Experience using overhead cranes to move machinery
• Ability to work as a cohesive member of the Production team
• Ability to produce quality work in a production environment to meet deadlines
• Demonstrate ability to work safely and meet OSHA guidelines in a manufacturing environment 4.

REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The noise level in the production area is usually loud
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Work is a "shop environment" with moving mechanical parts, electrical parts and vibration equipment
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains machines and tools using preventative maintenance requirements

Salary:

Starting at $30.00 per hour depending on experience.
