Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our dynamic electric motor repair team. In this role, you will operate and set up manual machining equipment to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in reading blueprints, utilizing precision measuring instruments, and applying mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship. Duties Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements. Operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining tools with precision and safety. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions. Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job, ensuring optimal performance. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime. Follow safety protocols rigorously while handling power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other machinery. Assist in assembly processes when necessary and support continuous improvement initiatives like lean manufacturing practices. Skills Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of precision machining parts for the motor industry. Familiarity with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges. Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements. Experience working within lean manufacturing environments to optimize efficiency. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills. Pay:
$25.88 - $31.17 per hour
